I'm a communications professional with more than a decade of experience working with nonprofits, foundations, educational institutions, and tech companies. As a leader, storyteller, educator, and problem solver, my skills include organizational strategy, team management, strategic messaging, branding, creative direction, content development, curriculum design, staff training, copywriting, grant writing, and editing. I currently serve as the communications director for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) East Africa Preterm Birth Initiative (PTBi-EA)
During my tenure as a communications consultant, under the business name WiseExposition, I worked with hundreds of Bay Area professionals across multiple sectors. My clients included Hearsay Social, Hewlett-Packard, MarkLogic, Equinix, Fluidigm, LeapFrog, Thomson West, PaperSeed Foundation, The Stewardship Council, Foundation for Youth Investment, WestCoast Children's Clinic, Catholic Charities, UCSF, UCBX, Kirkland & Ellis, and more.
I'm proud of my 20-year tenure as an educator – having taught composition, business communications, grant writing and marketing writing at both San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley Extension.
I hold an MA in English with a certificate for teaching writing to adult learners from San Francisco State University, and a BFA in fine arts from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCUarts).
